That happens all year, but it spikes during peak PCS season, mid-May through August, when full-service crews and trucks book out weeks ahead and a rental truck is often the fastest thing left to reserve. Either way, you handle the truck and the driving. We handle the loading, the carrying, and the unloading.

What the Job Involves
We take
- Loading a rental truck, trailer, or moving container you've already booked
- Unloading a truck or container you drove or had delivered yourself
- Furniture carried and loaded, boxes stacked and secured for the drive
- Furniture broken down where needed to fit through doorways or into the truck
We can't take
- Hazardous materials, including propane, paint, and aerosols
- Perishable food and plants
- Firearms and ammunition
- Anything that needs special equipment we don't bring for labor-only jobs — ask when you book
Moving help is priced by crew size and hours, not by truck size or weight — you've already picked the truck or container, so the only variable left is how many people it takes to fill or empty it and how long that takes.
Short-Notice and Same-Week Moves
Loading and unloading crews are often easier to book on short notice than a full move, since we're not coordinating a truck and a route — just a crew and a time. Peak PCS season is the exception; that's when the most rental trucks and containers are on the road at once, and our crews book up right alongside them.

How the Price Is Worked Out
Moving help runs on an hourly rate for the crew, with the total driven by how many people it takes and how long the loading or unloading actually runs — not by the size of the truck you rented or how far you're driving it. Access at pickup and drop-off, like stairs or a long walk from where the truck can park, adds time on both ends.

Do you provide the truck?
No — moving help is labor only. You rent or provide the truck, POD, or container, and our crew handles the loading and unloading. If you want the truck included too, our residential movers or full-service movers pages cover that.
Do labor-only movers need the same license as a full-service moving company?
Worth asking any company for proof of insurance before you book, moving help included. If that same company also runs full loaded-truck moves, that side of the business should carry an active Cal-T number issued by the California Public Utilities Commission.
How is moving help priced?
By the hour, based on crew size and how long the loading or unloading takes — not by the size of the truck you rented or the distance you're driving it.
How much notice do you need for a labor-only booking?
