San Diego Commercial Movers, Quoted Upfront
Retail, medical and office moves across San Diego, scheduled around your operating hours and handled by one crew start to finish.
Commercial Movers in San Diego
A business move in San Diego runs into a different set of obstacles than a household one. Building management wants a certificate of insurance before your crew sets foot in the lobby, and a downtown office tower needs its loading dock and freight elevator booked to the hour, not just the day. We handle both before your move date, not the morning of, and we schedule around your actual business hours instead of asking you to close early.
- Retail stores, restaurants and medical or dental offices relocating to a new address.
- Warehouses and businesses with equipment or inventory too heavy to move with staff alone.
- Any business that needs a certificate of insurance on file with a new building before move day.
- Property managers coordinating a commercial tenant's move-in or move-out.
- Businesses that need part of the move done while other departments keep working.
What the Job Involves
We take
- Retail fixtures, shelving and store displays
- Restaurant and food-service equipment, disconnected and ready to load
- Medical and dental office equipment
- Warehouse racking, pallets and inventory
- Office furniture and files when the business includes an office component
- Commercial equipment that needs careful handling, not just muscle
We can't take
- Hazardous materials — chemicals, aerosols, propane
- Perishable food and plants
- Firearms and ammunition
- Full exclusion list confirmed once we build your inventory
Commercial equipment is often heavier and more awkward than office furniture — shelving units and warehouse racking usually need a larger crew, and we size the team to your inventory before move day, not on it.
Short-Notice and Same-Week Moves
Commercial moves can usually be scheduled with more lead time than a household move, since the date is set by a lease rather than a closing. If your move date lands between mid-May and the end of August, book sooner rather than later — that's San Diego's peak military PCS season, and it pulls available crews and trucks thin countywide. Outside that window, we can often turn around a short-notice business move inside the same week.
- Short notice
- Often possible outside peak summer months if a crew and truck are free.
- Peak season
- Mid-May through August is our tightest stretch countywide — book ahead if your move falls in it.
- Booked ahead
- Two to four weeks out lets us plan around your building's dock and elevator windows.
How the Price Is Worked Out
A commercial move runs on the same math as a household one — crew, truck, and hours on site — but what actually moves the number is access: booking a loading dock and freight elevator, working around business hours, and how much of the job happens after your staff has gone home.
Crew and truck size
Sized to your business inventory, not your square footage alone.
Building access
Dock and elevator booking windows add planning time to the schedule.
Timing
After-hours or weekend moves keep the business running but need to be booked ahead.
Hiring Movers vs Renting a Truck
| Factor | Commercial Movers with us | The city program |
|---|---|---|
| Labor | Our crew loads, carries and reassembles — your staff keeps working. | Your own staff lifts, carries and drives it. |
| Timing | Scheduled around your business hours, including after-hours and weekends. | Depends on when staff can volunteer their time. |
| Liability | Covered under our liability and confirmed with a certificate of insurance for your building. | You're covering it — and most managed buildings won't accept a rental truck without a COI on file. |
| Best fit | Any business move where downtime and damaged equipment aren't an option. | A one-room office with willing staff and a flexible weekend. |
What You Don't Take With You
A business move is a natural point to clear out what the new space doesn't need — old fixtures being replaced, equipment that's been sitting in storage, files past their retention date. Rather than moving it and dealing with it later, most businesses have us clear it before the move instead.
Old fixtures and equipment
Cleared out through our commercial junk removal side, same crew, one visit.
Files and materials being retired
Hauled and disposed of responsibly instead of riding to the new location.
Apartments, Condos and HOAs
Downtown office tower
Loading dock and freight elevator booked to the hour, certificate of insurance filed with the property manager ahead of time.
Retail or street-level storefront
Loading during off-hours to stay clear of foot traffic and the business next door.
Warehouse or industrial space
Dock-height loading and pallet-scale moves, no residential-size truck guessing.
Medical or dental office
Equipment handled with the care its value calls for, scheduled around patient hours.
Property managers commonly ask for a certificate of insurance and a scheduled dock-and-elevator window before they'll let a moving crew in — pass along your building's requirements at booking and we'll get that cleared well ahead of move day.
How to Book
Tell us your move date, new address and roughly what's moving — fixtures, equipment, files.
We confirm crew size, timing and any building paperwork like a certificate of insurance.
Our crew moves you in around your business hours, not the other way around.

We move businesses across San Diego, from downtown high-rises to office and industrial parks in Kearny Mesa, Sorrento Valley and beyond.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my building require a certificate of insurance before you can move us in?
Many San Diego office towers and managed buildings do, especially downtown — buildings in the Marina District, East Village, Little Italy and Gaslamp Quarter commonly require one naming the property manager as additional insured. Tell us your building when you book and we'll have it ready before move day.
Can you move us after hours or on a weekend so we don't close during the week?
Yes — after-hours and weekend moves are common for businesses that can't afford downtime, and we schedule crews around whatever hours keep you open.
What license does a commercial mover need in California?
A mover operating entirely within California needs an active CPUC household goods carrier permit and a Cal-T number displayed on the truck — ours is posted on it, and any legitimate company will show you theirs without hesitation.
Do you handle the loading dock and elevator booking with our building, or do we?
Tell us your building and move date, and we'll coordinate the dock and elevator reservation directly where the property manager allows it — otherwise we'll tell you exactly what to book and when.
Is summer a bad time to schedule a business move in San Diego?
Summer is the one stretch worth planning around — San Diego's military PCS moves peak from mid-May through August, and that's when crews and trucks are hardest to book on short notice, business moves included. A few weeks' notice goes a long way if your date falls in there.
Can you also clear out the old space once we're out?
Yes — our commercial junk removal side handles that, same company, and we can schedule it right after the last load leaves.
